About the spacecraft
The Soyuz 7K-L1 'Zond', was a Soviet spacecraft to be used for manned lunar missions. It was launched on unmanned test flights to the moon on a Proton rocket and was eventually to be able to carry two people around the moon. It never flew any humans.
