About the MOC

This is a MOC of the Atlas V 501 rocket. The centaur stage is not included due to internal volume constrains, but the fairing holds some space for a payload. The MOC also includes a small stand for the rocket. It is available in two variants: a frosted variant and a normal one. There also are different fairing sizes that can be attached.

About the rocket

The Atlas V rocket is the newest rocket of the Atlas series of rockets. With a first flight in 2002 it flew almost 100 times since then. The rocket is made up out of a first stage with a RD-180 rocket engine, using RP-1/LOX as fuel and oxidizer. The first stage can also have up to 5 solid rocket boosters. The 501 variant of the Atlas V flies without any boosters though. The centaur upper stage uses a RL-10 engine.
